Directorate of Defence Investment and Technological Research

The Directorate of Defence Investments and Technological Research (DDIT) is responsible for the study, the submission of proposals and the general handling of issues related to research and development of defence technology, as well as to defence industry.

The DDIT is composed of the following Departments: 

(a) The Department of Defence Industry which is responsible for the study, the submission of proposals and the handling of issues related to: 

    (1) Recording, monitoring and studying of the capabilities of domestic defence industry.

    (2) Supervising of the public defence industries, assisting their development and coordination.

    (3) Evaluating the capabilities of the domestic private sector defence industries, establishing and monitoring of the Registry of Defence Material Manufacturers (according to the Presidential Degree 3/2008). 

The Defence Industry Coordinating Office, the Defence Industry Policy Office and the International Defence Relations Office belong to this Department. 

(b) The Department of Domestic Industrial Participation which is responsible for the study, the submission of proposals and the handling of issues related the co-production of defence products, the defining the Greek Added Value (GAV) of defence products, the evaluation of defence industrial prototypes, the monitoring of defence industry international cooperation and the defence industrial security. 

The Coordinating Office for the Domestic Defence Industry Co-production, the Contract Monitoring Office for the Domestic Defence Industry Co-production, and the Data Monitoring Office belong to this Department. 

(c) The Department of Defence and Technological Research which is responsible for the study, the submission of proposals and the handling of issues related to the development of the defence research and technology, the evaluation of the research proposals and the monitoring of the implementation of approved programs. 

This Department includes the Research Programs Evaluating Office and Research Programs Implementing Office.

(d) The Department of Contracts Monitoring which is responsible for the study, the submission of proposals and the handling of issues related to the implementation monitoring of the approved defence research and technology programs.

This Department includes the Research Programs Monitoring Office and Development Programs Monitoring Office.
