On Wednesday, 19 December 2018, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, visited Armed Forces Formations and Units, on Limnos and Lesvos.
First, she visited the 130th Combat Group. The Deputy Minister of National Defence, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Christos Christodoulou, was informed on the Group's Readiness for its excellent work and addressed the personnel, who every day prove their high readiness to defend our national air space and our national sovereignty.
Then, she visited "AITTITOS" gunboat at Myrina port, accompanied by the Commander of the Aegean Navy Command Commodore Ioannis Pattas HN, where after being informed on the gunboat's actions, she thanked the personnel for the uninterrupted execution of both their operational and social work, under all weather conditions.
Next, she visited the 88th Army Command "LIMNOS", where she was informed on the activities of the Formation’s Readiness Troops. The Deputy Minister of National Defence addressed the personnel of the Formation and expressed her admiration for their professionalism and the perfect knowledge and execution of their special duties.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, accompanied by the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands, Commander Nikolaos Manolakos, visited the 265th Mechanised National Guard Battalion and the Monastery of Archangel Michael in Mantamados, Lesvos.
During the visits, Mrs. Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha wished happy holidays to the officers, NCOs and the enlisted personnel.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence praised the Armed Forces for their work on the islands and thanked the personnel. Finally, she stressed that every Greek citizen feels safe, due to the determination, the effectiveness and the high morale of the Armed Forces.
