The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited on Friday 13 September 2019, in the context of his visit to Rodos island, the 95 Higher National Guard Battalions Command HQ. He was briefed on the Division’s activities and addressed a speech to the personnel and the Commanders of the Formation’s Units.

Afterwards, the Deputy Minister visited Kastellorizo, where he represented the Hellenic Government, attending the official celebrations for the 76th Anniversary of the island’s liberation.

Later on, the Deputy Minister of National Defence visited the torpedo boat “KRISTALLIDES” at the headquarters of the Island Defence Command of Megisti, as well as the Surveillance Outposts at the islets of Strongili and Ro; at the latter, he also laid a wreath at the Monument of the Lady of Ro.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis HN, and the Commanding General of Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands, Lieutenant General Georgios Dimitropoulos.
