The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha observed the training activity with antiaircraft and surface fires from the “Kountouriotis” frigate, at the Andros firing range, on Wednesday 12 December 2018.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis and the Chief of the Fleet Vice Admiral Ioannis Pavlopoulos.

Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha talked with the Frigate’s personnel and was briefed on current issues.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence stated that the Hellenic Navy is one of the bodies preserving our national heritage, since it practically imposes and promotes Greece’s strategic advantages in the Southeastern Mediterranean, but also at the international theatre. She stressed that: "Knowledge and love for the sea are elements which have always characterised Greece and Hellenism".
