"We are here for the pinnacle of the annual large scale Field Exercise "Parmenion 2019" with night operations, where he had the opportunity to confirm the skills and capabilities of the Hellenic Armed Forces. We all saw how night became day!
What we saw is what I meant when I stated before Parliament that the Armed Forces are Greece's sword, its mighty cutting edge.
The precision in the execution of exercises, the high quality, the excellent synchronisation of many arms of all three Services – let's not forget that the Exercise has been taking place during the entire week and will be completed tomorrow on Samothraki island – the morale and professionalism of all personnel, the mighty firepower of the weapon systems we saw on the battlefield, all these could be confirmed even by those who are not familiar with these capabilities, even during night time.
I would like to congratulate all Armed Forces personnel, the tens of thousands of all ranks who were involved in this Exercise.Congratulations to all.Today, it was proven that the country's Armed Forces have great deterrent power.
Dear Officers of the Armed Forces, you strive every day to become better, and you do this not to fight, but to ensure peace through this deterrent power, to protect and secure the country's sovereign rights, its territorial integrity, and consolidate to the entire Greek people the belief that they can feel safe.
Congratulations once again!".
