You can read the address of the Minister of National Defence to the Greek Community of Alexandria below:
“I am very glad to be near the Greek expatriates, for whom we have heard and seen so much. I consider it extremely fortunate that Greek and Cypriot expatriates live here in Egypt, since thus we achieve a very good and two-way communication between the two states’ societies, especially in recent years when relations have been excellent. We are at your side. We strive for the betterment of conditions and the countering of difficulties which may hinder your living here. We believe that future prospects are very good, when compared to the current conditions, and that better days will come for the Greek expatriates.
I thank you all for your warm reception and I wish you all good health and strength. God bless you all.
Thank you very much”.
