On Tuesday 9 May 2023, the Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos inaugurated the International Defence and Security Exhibition “DEFEA 2023”, held at the “Metropolitan Expo” Exhibition Centre, in Athens International Airport.
The inauguration was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Chardalias, the Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Mr. Kostas Fragkogiannis, the Deputy Minister for Development and Investments Mr. Giannis Tsakiris, the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros, the Chief/HAFGS Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias, the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Aggelos Choudeloudis, and the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymoussis HN.
The Exhibition “DEFEA”, which started today and will last until 11 May, is visited by Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chiefs/HNDGS and high officials of the EU member states, NATO, as well as other countries.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos toured the pavilions, among which the ones of the Ministry of National Defence, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), the General Dte of Defence Investments & Armaments (GDDIA).
During the exhibition, the Minister of National Defence had meetings with the Defence Minister of Italy Mr. Guido Crosetto, and of the Republic of North Macedonia Ms. Slavjanka Petrovska, with whom he discussed matters of bilateral defence cooperation and the security situation in Eastern Mediterranean. He also gave an interview regarding “Greece at the centre of geopolitical developments”.
