Upon his arrival at the conference Mr. Dendias stated in this regard:
“Today, with our colleagues at the level of EU Defence Ministers Council, we will discuss the matter of Europe’s defence readiness, the protection of our common European space. Greece can contribute to this discussion. The horizon for this discussion is 2030 in any case, and we, with the “2030 Agenda” can provide the European Union with our own perspective and understanding, which includes a holistic approach and protection. Thus, I think it will be an interesting discussion”.
Subsequently, the Minister participated in the EDA Steering Board’s conference, where the need to strengthen its role was highlighted, and the importance of common European priorities for the European Defence Industry was pointed out, with an emphasis on Research and Innovation.
In the margins of the conference Mr. Dendias had a personal meeting with the Defence Minister of Sweden Pål Jonson, during which they exchanged opinions regarding the prospect of strengthening the defence relationship between Greece and Sweden.
