On Wednesday 21 June 2023, the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis attended the event of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture under the title: “The World is changing” and made an address.
In his address, the Minister outlined the footprint of the Armed Forces in a world that is changing, focusing on the reinforcement of the deterrent power, the acquisition of modern systems, the maintenance of old ones, as well as personnel welfare.
Upon conclusion of the event, Mr. Stefanis stated:
“Excellent event, with exceptional speakers, where the timely matter of the changes that are taking place was discussed and how these affect and shape the Greek reality.
The new challenges that the Country faces require innovative reactions, which however, while characterised by flexibility and effectiveness, maintain the red lines regarding the defence and protection of our national sovereign rights”.
Moderator for the event was Mr. Nikos Koukis, President of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.
