The Alternate Minister of National Defence Dimitris Vitsas will pay an official visit to Washington on October 02-06, 2016.

During his visit, he will meet with government officials in the Pentagon, cadres of companies in the field of defence industry and he will inaugurate the Greek pavilion in the international defence materiel exposition AUSA 2016.

Promoting the Greek defence industry in the international markets and ensuring cooperation with other industries will be the core activities of the meetings which the Alternate Defence Minister will hold during the AUSA 2016.

This exposition is a top event in the field of the defence industry and it is held every year with the participation of specialists and of more than 600 companies-exhibitors, including Greek industries as well. It is the third year that Greece participates in the exposition.

More specifically, during the visit, the Alternate Minister of National Defence:

will meet with representatives of defence industries on Monday, October 03, 2016, on the day of the official opening of the Exposition.

will visit the Pentagon on Tuesday, October 04, 2016, where he will meet with Elissa Slotkin (Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs) and he will attend a briefing of the DIA. Also, on Tuesday, he will meet the President of the American Hellenic Institute.

will meet the Director of the DSCA, Vice Admiral Joseph Rixey on Wednesday, October 05, 2016; he will also have a number of scheduled meetings.

will visit the Embassy of Greece on Thursday, October 06, 2016, where he will give a press conference to representatives of Greek media. During his visit in the USA, the Alternate Minister will also give interviews to US media.
