The Alternate Minister of National Defence Dimitris Vitsas inaugurated the Hellenic pavilion in the international defence systems exhibition AUSA 2017 in Washington DC on Monday, 9 October, 2017.
The Alternate Minister of National Defence stated the following in his address:
“I am particularly pleased to welcome you to the Hellenic Pavilion for AUSA 2017, an important international organization in which information is provided about the latest developments in the field of defence industry. The possibility offered to defence community for meetings, networking, new cooperations and exchange of ideas is important as well.
As Alternate Minister of National Defence I would like to stress that we support the extroversion of the Hellenic Defence Industry and its efforts which are oriented to the global market. Moreover, we are pleased to inform the international community about its exceptional capabilities to produce a great variety of products which meet the highest military specifications and the highest quality standards. At the same time, the Hellenic Defence Industry offers an attractive perspective for cooperation, coproduction and sharing of high technology with industries from all over the world.
The Hellenic Pavilion in AUSA 2017 was organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence for the fourth consecutive year. The enhanced participation of the domestic defence industry confirms the great capabilities and the possibility to develop this particular field of the national industrial and technological base.
The modernization and the upgrade of the Hellenic Defence Industry, of a strategic sector which significantly contributes to our national economy, support consistently a long term strategy which: develops skills, promotes innovation and enhances productivity, improves the capabilities of small and medium sized enterprises, ensures transparency and legitimacy, creates productive cooperations with allies and partners, forms strong bonds between Defence and Industry, strengthens the vision of “Supply-chain Security” in Europe and our allies.
In addition, I am pleased to inform you that this year we will take a new step. Tomorrow, on Tuesday, 10 October, at 5:30 p.m. in hall 150A, on the occasion of the announcement of the creation of an AUSA department in Greece, we will present you the Hellenic Industry Networking Event and we invite you all to listen to our proposal and invest in Greece.

On Tuesday morning, the Alternate Minister of National Defence will visit the Pentagon and in the afternoon he will address the Hellenic Industry Networking Event which is held at the premises of the exhibition.
