On Friday, 19 May Alternate Minister of National Defence, Dimitris Vitsas, 2017, attended and addressed a speech during the handing-over ceremony of “ Loumakis” camp in Karditsa Municipality.
The Alternate Minister of National Defence, Dimitris Vitsas, highlighted in his speech that the goal of the Ministry of National Defence is the delivery and effectiveness of inoperative camps.
Among others, he stated: “ It is a good day both for Karditsa and the Armed Forces, in the sense that an effort that began nine years ago and I dare say was time consuming, is ending and at the same time a new beginning is marked.
What I have to say is that, on one hand I wish this site to be a life-giving lung for Karditsa and, on the other hand, I promise that Karditsa’s society will continue to have the support of the Ministry of National Defence and the Armed Forces, in the sense that we will always keep an eye on this site so that it remains effective in the best possible way. As a Government, we will make sure that all necessary funding is provided, so that soon this project is materialised and utilized because allow me to say that I have seen projects, which after some time remain inoperative. In this context, the citizens of this city should contribute as well, since the project is now theirs”.
