Alternate Minister Dimitris Vitsas attends a welcoming event for orphan children from Lebanon

The Alternate Minister of National Defence Dimitris Vitsas attended an event organized by the Ministry of National Defence at the Armed Forces’ Officers’ Mess for the reception of 31 orphan children (4 to 7 years old) from Lebanon who visit Greece. This group of children comes from families of Lebanese soldiers who became ISIS victims and, after visiting Athens, they will visit an Aegean island for a few days vacation.

The Alternate Minister, welcoming the children, wished them to have a great holiday in Greece. In parallel, he stressed that life needs courage and wished them to make their dreams come true. Quoting also a famous verse of poet Giannis Ritsos, said that, if all children on Earth hold each other’s hand tight they would form a circle which would embrace the Earth and this would be circle of peace and cooperation for all peoples.

The event was also attended by the Alternate Minister for Social Solidarity Theano Fotiou, the Alternate Minister for Migrant Policy Giannis Mouzalas and the President of the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Theofilos Rozenberg
