The Alternate Minister of National Defence Panagiotis Rigas watched a men’s basketball game, on Thursday 14 March 2019, between the Agia Barbara All-Star Team (“Odysseus”, “Polynikis”, “Nikiphorus”) and the Armed Forces National Team, at the indoor court of Agia Barbara. The game was conducted for charity, in order to collect foodstuffs for the social grocery store of Agia Barbara. During the half-time the Agia Barbara Basketball Academies conducted a free-throw contest and the two young winners were awarded a jersey and a ball signed by the players of the Armed Forces National Team. The Alternate Minister of National Defence and the Olympic Champions Katerina Thanou and Athanasia Tsoumeleka awarded commemorative gifts to the Mayor of Agia Barbara Giorgos Kaplanis and the teams’ presidents and coaches. The match was won by the National Team with the final score being 55-77.
