The Alternate Minister of National Defence Dimitris Vitsas will go on 7 January 2018 to Cyprus, for the handover of the remains of the fallen at the patrol boat FAETHON and their repatriation to Greece on Tuesday, 9 January.
The fallen of FAETHON, six Greeks and a Cypriot, lost their lives on August 1964 at Xeros Gulf, during the bombardments of Tillyria by Turkish aircraft.
During his stay in Cyprus, the Alternate Minister of National Defence will visit the military camp of the Hellenic Force Cyprus and he will meet with the Chief of the National Guard
General Staff, the Minister of Defence and other officials.
On Tuesday 9 January 2018, the handover ceremony of the remains will take place in the morning at the cemetery of Saints Constantine and Eleni and in the afternoon of the same day, the repatriation ceremony will take place at the church of Saint Demetrios in Palaskas training centre.
