April 20, 2018

The black anniversary of the Army coup on the 21 April 1967 brings to mind, after 51 years, incidents that scarred the country and the Greek people.

The Armed Forces, an integral part of the people, are dedicated to their mission and constitute a guarantee for peace, for the protection of the territorial integrity and the sovereign rights of our country.

We honor the sacrifices of the combatants of the anti-dictatorship struggle, by intensifying our efforts to get the country out of the memoranda vicious cycle, fighting at the same time to defend and broaden personal and social rights.

The Greek people learn from history lessons and do not forget. To preserve historical memory is not just a debt involving all of us, it is also a beacon shedding a light on the course of our country and people’.
