Today, the 13th of March 2018, the Alternate Minister of National Defence Fotis Kouvelis, accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited ‘Agios Efstratios’ island. During their visit, they met with the mayor, Maria Kakalis, they visited ‘Agios Efstratios’ Surveillance Outpost, and they were guided around the Museum of Democracy.

While in the Outpost, the Alternate Minister of National Defence stated: ‘From ‘Agios Efstratios’ Outpost, on the island of ‘Agios Efstratios’, we realize that the military personnel, soldiers, Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers, assigned here, are determined and firm in the execution of duty. ‘Agios Efstratios’ is in the ‘heart’ of the Aegean, and those who serve here, defend the country and protect its integrity’.
