In his address he pointed out that “The main goal of the healthcare policy of the Ministry of National Defence is health protection and advancement and aims at the provision of high level healthcare services, regarding both the Armed Forces personnel and the citizens in general”.

Regarding Military Hospitals, he stated:

“Finding solutions with regard to issues concerning Military Hospitals and upgrading the provided healthcare services is a priority for the Ministry’s political leadership. We are working towards this direction, so that we can have substantial and immediate results.

Thus, despite the financial difficulties, we proceed by making a great effort to implement programs aimed at upgrading Military Hospitals, covering the members’ healthcare needs, and at the same time upgrading the services provided”.

He continued: “We proceed with actions concerning the 401st Army General Hospital, the 251st Air Force General Hospital, the Naval Hospital of Athens and the rest of the hospitals as well, aiming at upgrading the services provided and improving working conditions. This effort is supported by the Region of Attica and other public and private agencies”.

The Alternate Minister of National Defence finally stated: “The constant goal to upgrade the healthcare provided is met, on one hand, through quality work at all command levels and, on the other hand, through fostering an environment of trust and communication, requiring everyone’s collective effort and cooperation. Your role in this effort is decisive, through your active participation, your constant efforts, and the results you have.

Concluding my address, I would like to thank you, both the administration and the personnel, for your contribution; please continue with your mission with the same eagerness and devotion, and I wish everyone good health and all happiness to you and your families”.
