At the same time, he stressed that her sacrifice for the country placed her in the Pantheon of the Immortals, so, today’s remembrance ceremony is a tribute of extremely moral value.

The Deputy Minister stated in his address:
“It is a great honour to be in today’s remembrance ceremony, dedicated to Major General Evangelia Andreadaki, who prematurely lost her life while on duty in Libya. A tragic event, which filled the husband, the parents of the deceased, as well as her friends, colleagues and the whole Greek society with sorrow. Evi, as everyone knew her, and she herself preferred to be called so, loved the Air Force, and as she herself had stated “she was destined to serve the Air Force before even born…”. She was commissioned in the Air Force in 2006, upon completion of her attendance in the Nursing Officers School and from then on she followed an ascending career, education and development as a nurse-officer. She loved the training, and that is why she was always graduating among the top in the Air Force schools. A characteristic attribute of her combative nature and her restless will, was her voluntary participation and attendance in the escape from a sinking helicopter course, a few days before departing for the mission. She also excelled in the Academia. She was a Pathologist and holder of three Specialisation Post-Graduate Diplomas, with lots of publications in scientific journals. She was active in the field of training as an instructor, but also as a member of scientific conferences and imparted knowledge and principles to her colleagues. She honoured her oath to the fullest and literally remained faithful to her duty until the last drop of her blood. Her contribution to the fellow human was acknowledged by the Academic community, and for this reason, she was recently and honourably declared Doctor. Evi was and still is a source of inspiration and an example for all the nurses-officers to follow, for all the Armed Forces members, for all of us. With her tragic death, she filled her husband and parents with sorrow. Her sacrifice for the country placed her in the Pantheon of the Immortals, so, today’s remembrance ceremony is a tribute of extremely moral value. Dear Kostas, dear Lefteris and Chrysoula, allow me to express once more my sincere condolences. Acknowledging the irreplaceable gap of your beloved, be always proud of Evi, for her ethos and values, for her outstanding contribution to the Country. Today’s amphitheatre’s change of name to Amphitheatre “Major General Evangelia Andreadaki” is the least we can do to honour her memory. Evi will always live in our soul and show us the path of duty. Have faith in God, be strong and be certain that all of us will stand by your side. The Armed Forces and the Air Force is your family from now on.
In our hearts she will always be Immortal”.
