A Ministerial Decision signed by the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, upon recommendation of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and including input from the other General Staffs, introduces new beneficial measures and administrative facilities for Armed Forces personnel.
The Ministerial Decision replaces the previous one and introduces the following main changes:

Replaces the requirement for incapacity to perform any gainful employment or work with a requirement for recognised disability.

Defines the terms “night shift” and “overnight duty”.

Adds the term “exclusive custody” of an adult child by judicial decision for personnel benefiting from relevant provisions.

Includes provisions for certain categories of military personnel facing acute social problems (single parents, parents with exclusive custody of children with or without disabilities, women undergoing assisted reproduction, etc.) granting exemptions from duty and exercises, the right to choose shift schedules (morning, afternoon, night), and setting limits on duty shifts.
