Directorate for the Armed Forces Real Estate Development (D.A.F.R.E.D.)
1. D.A.F.R.E.D. is a service of the Ministry of National Defence, which operates as an organizational unit at the level of Directorate and is under the direct supervision of the Minister of Defense.
2. D.A.F.R.E.D.’s mission is the exploitation of real estate owned by the National Defence Fund (N.D.F.), the National Fleet Fund (N.F.F.) and the Air Defence Fund (A.D.F.) that are not used for military purposes, for the benefit of the Armed Forces and their executives, as well as the exploitation of the properties of the Army Share Fund (A.S.F.), the Navy Share Fund (N.S.F.) and the Aviation Equity Fund (M.T.A.), for the benefit of the shareholders of the Share Funds.
3. D.A.F.R.E.D.’s objective is to attract investment, both domestic and international, for the sole purpose of concluding long-term leases contracts for the properties have been made available for exploitation.
4. The properties in its portfolio are located in various locations throughout Greece, and concern the majority of the areas of great interest for beneficial long-term investments. Some of them are in a privileged geographical position, enabling them to be exploited through the framework governing Strategic Investments.
5. D.A.F.R.E.D. is structured to fulfill its mission in the following sections:
a. Department of Development and Evaluation
b. Department of Financial Services and Administrative Support.
c. Legal Support Department.
d. Secretariat Department.
The departments exert the competences defined by the institutional framework for the organization and operation of D.A.F.R.E.D.
