The Minister of National Defence exchanged wishes with the military and civilian personnel.
The Minister of National Defence made the following statement:
“The message of the Birth of Christ brings us hope. As Minister of National Defence and on behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister and the whole Hellenic people, I want to wish a Merry Christmas to all the cadres of the Armed Forces, the Chiefs, the Officers, the NCOs, the Soldiers, the members of the National Guard and the civilian personnel.
They are the people who stay at their posts to secure the national sovereignty and our country’s territorial integrity, when most of us are close to our families. They are always ready to defend our freedom in air bases, on ships, at radars and in outposts. They are prepared for war in order to secure peace. We wish them and their families a Merry Christmas.
During these Holy Days we especially remember those families which lost their relatives in peacetime for the sake of our country. We stand by their side.
The whole nation embraces the Armed Forces and the Armed Forces protect the nation.
Merry Christmas”.
