On Wednesday 21 December 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr Ioannis Kefalogiannis, hosted the Vrakofori of Crete Group in his office at the Ministry of National Defence, for the sounding of the Christmas carols and to exchange wishes.
The Vrakofori of Crete Group sang the traditional Christmas carols to the Deputy Minister, and presented him with an anniversary calendar for the 50 years since the founding of the Group as a gift. Also, they gave him an icon depicting the Four Martyr Saints of Rethymnon as a gift, given that this year marks the 200th anniversary of their deaths.
Mr Kefalogiannis talked with the dancers and musicians, gave them wishes for a Merry Christmas, presented them with symbolic gifts, and congratulated them for the long-term contribution of the Group to tradition and culture.
