In its second meeting for 2026, the Governmental National Security Council decided on the following:

1. The appointment of Lieutenant Generals, Vice Admirals, Lieutenant Generals (HAF), a Major General as acting Lieutenant General and a Major General (HAF) as acting Lieutenant General (HAF) as follows:

a. HELLENIC ARMY

(1) Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos as Army Inspector General/EU-OHQ.

(2) Lieutenant General Grigorios Boudliakis as Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia/NRDC-GR.

(3) Lieutenant General Anastasios Polychronos as Commander of the Joint Academic Education Command.

(4) Lieutenant General Konstantinos Karamanidis as Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Army General Staff.

(5) Lieutenant General Konstantinos Gakis, as Commanding General of the Hellenic Special Warfare Command.

(6) Lieutenant General Athanasios Saplaouras as Commanding General of the Hellenic Army Support Command.

(7) Major General Nikolaos Gretsas as Commanding General of the Construction and Natural Disasters Relief Command.

b. HELLENIC NAVY

(1) Vice Admiral Spyridon Lagaras HN as Deputy Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff.

(2) Vice Admiral Pierros Kontodios HN as Commander of the Hellenic Navy Logistics Command.

c. HELLENIC AIR FORCE

(1) Lieutenant General (HAF) Vasileios Broumas as Deputy Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff.

(2) Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimitrios Fanaras as the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Inspector General.

(3) Major General (HAF) Konstantinos Savvas Tziovaras, as Commander of the Hellenic Air Force Air Support Command.

2. The following will maintain their current position:

a. HELLENIC ARMY

(1) Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis as Deputy Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff.

(2) Lieutenant General Dimitrios Vakantis, as Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

(3) Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos as Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace.

b. HELLENIC NAVY

(1) Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos HN, as Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet.

(2) Vice Admiral Theodoros Mikropoulos HN, as Deputy Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff.

c. HELLENIC AIR FORCE

(1) Lieutenant General (HAF) Panagiotis Georgakopoulos, as Chief of Hellenic Tactical Air Force.

(2) Lieutenant General (HAF) Konstantinos Bouzos, as Chief of Staff of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.
