Today Monday 16 January 2017 the Foreign Affairs and Defence Governmental Council chaired by the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras decided the following:

Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis  remains as HNDGS Chief .

Lieutenant General Alkiviades Stefanis, up to today serving as C’Army Corps Commander/NRDC GR, is the incoming HAGS Chief.

Lieutenant General (HAF) Christos Christodoulou, up to today Chief of Tactical Air Force is the incoming HAFGS Chief.

Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis, up to today Commander of the National Defence School is the new HNGS Chief.

Outgoing HAGS Chief Lt General Vassileios Tellides ends his career having been promoted to retired General and is awarded the Honorary HAGS Chief title.

Outgoing HAFGS Chief Lt General Christos Vaitsis ends his career having been promoted to General and is awarded the Honorary HAFGS Chief title.

Outgoing HNGS Chief Vice-Admiral Georgios Giakoumakis ends his career having been promoted to Admiral and is awarded the Honorary HNGS Chief title.
