Today, the Government Council of National Security convened, under the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the regular evaluations regarding the leadership of the Armed Forces.

The Government Council of National Security decided the following:

-The extension of the term of Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis as Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff for one more year.

-The extension of the term of Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis as Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff for one more year.

-The automatic retirement of the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Blioumis, the promotion to the rank of retired General and the award of the title of Honorary Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.

-The selection of Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias as Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.

-The appointment of Lieutenant General Georgios Fasoulas as Chief of the Tactical Air Force, replacing the selected officer for the position of the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias.

-The appointment of the Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymousis as Chief of Staff, without relieving him of his current duties as Deputy Chief of HNDGS.
