The Minister of National Defence Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, in the context of his scheduled visit to Aghion Oros, had a meeting with the Mayor of Aristotelis Mr. Stylianos Valianos, during which the further cooperation of the Ministry of National Defence with the Aristotelis Municipality was discussed, to meet the requirements and establish required infrastructures that the local economy needs.
The Mayor of Aristotelis expressed his thanks for the undertaken initiatives, confirming thecrucial social role of the Armed Forces.
Next, Mr. Stefanis visited the Metropolis of Ierissos, Aghion Oros and Ardamerion, where he met with Metropolitan Theoklitos.
Before departing for Aghion Oros, he visited and prayed at the Historic Metropolitan Church of Aghios Stefanos of Arnaia, the only one in Greece that is also a Museum. It has a glass floor, with three excavation levels, which depict the historic phases of its worship use, from the beginning of its construction as an Old Christian Basilica of the 5th century until 1812, possessing its current form.
On the road to Aghion Oros, the Minister of National Defence visited the Church of Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian.
