The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, accompanied by the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Haralambos Laloussis, attended the events for the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of
Megisti Island Liberation, representing the Hellenic Government, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

After the Doxology which was held at Agios Konstantinos and Agia Eleni Church, a wreath was laid at the Monument of the Fallen by the President of the Hellenic Republic, followed by a visit to HS LASKOS, docking at Megisti. In addition, the Minister visited the installations of the Megisti Island Defence Force Camp and discussed with the personnel.
