The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos will travel tomorrow to Milan, in order to participate in the informal meeting of the EU Defence Ministers, taking place in the framework of the Italian presidency.
The agenda of the meeting enclosed, among others, the designation of policies for the enhancement of the effectiveness of the common policy in the fields of Security and Defence, as well as the enhancement of military capabilities which will be the means to achieve it.
At the informal meeting, the progress and the perspectives of ongoing EU military operations (EU NAVFOR Atalanta, EUFOR Althea, EUTM Somalia, EUTM Mali and MONUC Congo), as well as the issues that will preoccupy the next EDA meeting in November, will also be discussed.
