Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos’ participation in the Meeting of Defence Ministers of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council and in the meeting of the European Defence Agency’s Steering Board (Luxembourg 15/4/2014)

The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos will go tomorrow, Holy Tuesday April 15, to Luxembourg, where he will represent the Greek Presidency at the Meeting of Defence Ministers of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, will also participate in the meeting.

Mr. Avramopoulos will also participate in the meeting of the European Defence Agency’s Steering Board, which will take place tomorrow in Luxembourg.

The Foreign Affairs Council Agenda includes European maritime security strategy and operations in the Central African Republic.

Finally, during lunch, at the presence of Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the situation in Ukraine, the impact of the Ukraine crisis to European defence policy and the EU-NATO cooperation will be discussed.
