The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos will visit Brussels, so as to participate in the NATO Defence Ministers’ Meetings (3-4/6/2014). Vital decisions, concerning the Alliance’s future, are expected to be taken during the Meetings in view of September’s Summit.
NATO Defence Ministers will work on the progress made concerning the development of the alliance’s capabilities and the measures taken to provide security assurance to the allies. The Alliance’s cyber defence and maritime strategy will be crucial sessions of the Meetings.
Mr. Avramopoulos will also participate in the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, where the strategic consequences of the Ukraine crisis and its long term consequences on the Alliances defence structure will be discussed.
On the sidelines of the Meeting, the Minister of National Defence will have bilateral meetings with his counterparts.
