The Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos, informed while in Brussels about the death of the eminent figure of the Greek-American community Theodore Spyropoulos, made the following statement:

“I am deeply sorrowed to have been informed about the death of Theodore Spyropoulos.

He was a great man and en eminent Greek who, with the integrity of his character, his vigour and his inexhaustible industriousness, deservedly gained a special position among the great patriots of the Greek-American community

He was much appreciated among his fellow patriots for his long and successful professional course and his always great national contribution, and he was honoured by Greece, which he loved and served keenly.

His work and his contribution will inspire and motivate many young fellow patriots to follow his example.

I express my deepest condolences to his family and to the Greek-American Community, who farewells him with acknowledgement, love and respect.”
