The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos had a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Mr. Xiao Junzheng on Tuesday, 24 May 2022.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos underscored that Greece and China maintain traditional bonds of friendship and cooperation while the mutually beneficial further reinforcement of their financial, cultural and tourist exchanges is important. They also discussed matters pertinent to the cooperation in the field of defence and more particularly the training and the exchange of visits of high-ranking officials from both countries.
Views were also exchanged on the developments in Ukraine and the security situation in Eastern Mediterranean and the need to fully respect sovereignty and sovereign rights of all countries, according to the International Law, was stressed.
