The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, participated today in a teleconference (VTC) of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, held by initiative of the US Defence Secretary, Mr. Lloyd Austin. The NATO General Secretary, Jens Stoltenberg, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, Defence Ministers and other senior officials  also participated in the teleconference, as well as the Chief/HNDGS, General Dimitrios Houpis.

At his intervention, the Greek Minister underlined Greece’s firm position supporting Ukraine and her right to defend her sovereignty and territorial integrity against the Russian invasion, which has been a flagrant violation of International Law, and is undermining peace, security and stability in Europe.

Mr. Dendias also referred to our country’s defence assistance to Ukraine, and highlighted that Greece will keep on being by the side of the Ukrainian people, defending the principles of International Law and territorial integrity, according to the UN Chart.
