The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, accompanied by Chief/HNDGS General Dimitrios Houpis and Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, will travel tomorrow, Wednesday 4 June 2025, to France, to attend the launching ceremony of the FDI HN Frigate “FORMION”.
Mr. Dendias will arrive at the Lann-Bihoué Air Base, where he will be officially received (11:15 local time). Afterwards, he will go to the Lorient Naval Base, where he will be briefed by the Commander on the developments of the shipbuilding programme of the FDI HN Frigates (12:00 local time).
Next, the Minister of National Defence will visit Frigate “KIMON” and he will attend the launching ceremony of the Frigate “FORMION” (14:00 local time), to be held at the NAVAL Group installations in Lorient.
On Thursday 5 June, Mr. Minister will be in Brussels, to participate in the NATO Defence Ministers Meeting.
