Defence Minister N. Dendias to travel to Portugal

The Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias will travel on Thursday 7 May 2026 to Portugal, at the invitation of his Portuguese counterpart, Mr. Nuno Melo, with whom he will have bilateral discussions.

The private meeting of the two Ministers will be followed by extended talks between the two delegations, concluded by joint press statements and a work lunch.

During his stay in Portugal Mr. Minister will also visit, on Thursday 7 May 2026, the facilities of the 506 Squadron.

On Friday 8 May 2026, Mr. Dendias will visit the Operational Centre for Unmanned Vehicles (CEOV) at the Lisbon Naval Base, as well as the headquarters of the European Maritime Security Agency (EMSA).

The visit of the Minister of National Defence takes place in the context of strengthening the bilateral relations in the fields of Defence, Security and Innovation.
