Defence Minister Nikolaos Chardalias visits Athens Naval Hospital

The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, visited today, this 9th day of March of 2022, the Athens Naval Hospital, accompanied by the Chief HNGS Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis, the Deputy Chief HNGS Rear Admiral Georgios Kambourakis and the Director of HNDGS Medical Directorate Major General Dimitrios Chatzigeorgiou, as well as the Director of HNGS Medical Directorate Rear Admiral Vasileios Gkoumas.

In the context of the visit, the Deputy Minister of National Defence has been briefed by the Athens Naval Hospital’s Administrator Commodore Antonios Papageorgiou about the Hospital’s organization and operation. Then, he had a tour at the facilities and infrastructure, where he spoke to medical doctors, nurses and members of the Hospital’s administrative personnel, as well as to patients and their accompanying persons.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence congratulated the members of the Athens Naval Hospital for the magnificent work they are doing, despite the difficult times and circumstances, always providing high-level health services. Moreover, he highlighted the Armed Forces’ contribution to the reduction of congestion in and support to the National Health System, stemming from the tireless commitment over time of the Armed Forces to the Greek society.
