The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos participated in Munich Security Conference, which was held from 16 to 18 February 2022.

At the sidelines of the Conference, the Minister had a series of meetings with Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Mr. Benny Gantz and Germany’s Federal Minister of Defence Ms. Christine Lambrecht. They discussed matters related to the further reinforcement of bilateral defence relations and developments in the wider region.

Mr. Panagiotopoulos attended also a working breakfast chaired by the former Defence Secretary of the USA Mr. James Norman Mattis, during which he presented Greece’s contribution to security and stability in the region. The event was also attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Ms. Nancy Pelosi, by the Defence Ministers of Canada, Netherlands and Finland and by the chairmen of the Armed Services Committee and of the Committee on Intelligence of U.S. House of Representatives.
