The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos attended today, Monday 17 October 2022, the contract signing ceremony for the “Energy upgrade for the Outdoor Lighting Systems of the Armed Forces’ Military Camps throughout the country”, which was signed between the Higher Military Command of Army Support and “DASTERI SYSTEMS” SA, at the MOD.

The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, and the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Haralambos Laloussis.

The contract provides for the replacement of 35,404 lighting points, by installing 35,404 items of new “smart” lighting fittings and LED-type bulbs, and also includes the 10-year good performance guarantee/maintenance by the Contractor. The lightings will be installed in Military Camps of Land Units, HNDGS, HAGS, HNGS, HAFGS and Mobile Field Surgical Hospitals. After the completion of the lighting systems upgrade, the energy savings for the MOD is expected to exceed 26,000,000 KWh per year, while the economic advantage is expected to be more than 5 mil. This investment gives to the Ministry of National Defence the possibility to achieve the objective of energy saving, and full alignment with the European Regulations and Circulars.
