Upon the conclusion of the exercise, which comprised cooperation operations between the Navy and Special Forces Units and amphibious actions, air operations and attack helicopters operations, the Minister of National Defence delivered the following address:

We observed, for several hours, the great Military Exercise
Medousa 2021”, with the participation of Egypt, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates and Greece, and several countries-observers, among which France, Morocco, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, India, a fact that displays the increasing international interest for this Exercise, an exercise which has been transformed, as I said, to a really great military event at a global level.

The fact that four countries come closer to each other through a joint training, engaging several elements of their Armed Forces – navy, air, land forces – in a field of intensive exercises and training, show the real and true will of these countries to constitute a grid that defends and reinforces the security and stability environment in the region.

With these countries, Egypt, Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates, we share common views of what constitutes a factor or factors of stability and Security in the region, and respectively what constitutes destabilizing factors. We totally agree and prove this convergence of views and perceptions through these impressive Exercises, whose importance and spectrum, as I said, increase each year.

I would really like to congratulate all those who organized and implemented the “Medousa 2021”, this international Military event of great importance.

Congratulations to everybody”.
