Defence Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos briefed on the Draft Law pertaining to the Modernization, Simplification and Reform of the regulatory framework of public contracts

On Tuesday, 02 March 2021, the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, participated in the joint meeting of the Permanent Production and Trade Committee, as well as the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Greek Parliament, with the subject of the agenda being: “Continuing the elaboration and examination of the Draft Law of the Ministry of Development and Investments, pertaining to the “Modernization, Simplification and Reform of the regulatory framework of public contracts, special procurement arrangements in the fields of defence and security and other provisions concerning development and infrastructure”.

The Minister briefed the members of the Committee and replied to clarifications asked by members of the Parliament, with regard to the promoted provisions of the said Draft Law, referring to articles 143-179, through which, programming matters are settled regarding Public Contracts in the Field of Defence, matters regarding the signing of Public Contracts concerning Defence and matters regarding the execution of Public Contracts.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis and the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Antonios Oikonomou attended the meeting.
