The Minister of National Defence Mr. NIKOLAOS PANAGIOTOPOULOS briefed today, Wednesday 10 June 2020,
the Greek MEPs of the EPP on the developments in national Defence and Security matters, in the context of
teleconferences organised on a weekly basis by the Vice Chair of the EPP Group and head of the Nea Demokratia (GR) party delegation Mr. VANGELIS MEIMARAKIS.

Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos referred to the governmental actions and planning, which aim to tackle the escalating
Turkish provocative activities, underlining the need to promote Greece to a pole of stability and security in the East Mediterranean. At the same time, he underlined the pivotal role of exercising an active and multidimensional
defence diplomacy, in the aim of afeguarding our country’s sovereign rights.
