The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos met with Israel’s Alternate Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Mr. Benjamin Gantz, on Tuesday 16 June 2020, in the context of the visit of Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Israel, as the head of a wide governmental delegation.
The two Ministers discussed, among other things, the reinforcement of the cooperation in the field of Defence and Security, focusing on joint air and naval exercises, as well as the promotion of synergies in the field of Defence Industry. According to a post of the Israeli Minister of Defence at the social media: “Israel views Greece as a strategic partner and true friend and I’m looking forward to working directly and regularly with the minister to cultivate this important relationship”.
Mr. Panagiotopoulos will attend the meetings of the Greek government’s delegation with representatives of defence industries.
