The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos met, on Tuesday, 5th of July 2022, with the Defence Minister of Israel Mr. Benjamin Gantz at the sidelines of the ECONOMIST Conference, in Lagonissi.
In the meeting, which took place in an exceptionally cordial atmosphere, the importance of the strategic relationship between Greece and Israel was pointed out.
The Ministers also expressed their satisfaction with the excellent level of cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries, and with the cooperation in the field of defence industry through significant armament programmes.
During their talks, they stressed that the Trilateral Cooperation of Greece, Cyprus and Israel in the defence field contributes to the promotion of stability in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean, and to the establishment of a climate of peace and cooperation. They also pointed out the significance of the 3+1 cooperation scheme with the USA.
