The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos received the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodoros II in his office, at the Ministry of National Defence, on 23 July 2021.
The Minister was informed thoroughly by His Beatitude about the work, the contribution and the mission of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Egypt and in all Africa.
The Patriarch gave his blessing “to the Christ-loving Army of Greece” and expressed his gratitude for the help of the Motherland to the Greek community of Egypt which keeps the presence of Hellenism and Orthodoxy alive in the region, confirming the excellent relations between Greece and Egypt.
