The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos met today, Friday 30 July 2021, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence of Lebanon Ms Zeina Akar, in the context of her visit to our country. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis and the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros.
The Minister expressed Greece’s undivided support and solidarity to Lebanon, highlighting the fact that the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence will provide every possible assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces.
At the meeting, it was agreed to further deepen bilaretal defence cooperation, as well as cooperation with countries of the broader region, so as to promote security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, on the basis of International Law and the principle of good neighbourly relations.
