The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and his counterparts from Cyprus Mr. Charalambos Petrides and Israel Mr. Benjamin Gantz participated on Tuesday, 5th of July 2022, in a discussion titled “Security Challenges for Europe and the Middle East against the Backdrop of Geopolitical Turmoil”, in the context of the 26th annual roundtable of “The Economist”. The discussion was chaired by the Executive and Diplomatic Editor of “The Economist”, Mr. Daniel Franklin.
The roundtable discussion was attended also by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Konstantinos Floros, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis and the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias.
At the sidelines of the conference, the Minister of National Defence had a brief meeting with the former US Secretary of State Mr. Mike Pompeo.
