The Minister of national Defence Nikos Dendias attended the Blessing of the Water in Glyfada which was officiated by His Eminence the metropolitan Pavlos of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari.
The Minister of National Defence was welcomed by the Mayor of Glyfada Georgios Papanikolaou.
After the end of the ceremony, Mr. Dendias made the following statement:
“Today is Epiphany, the day for the Blessing of Water, a great day for Orthodox Christians and Greeks, for sailors, for everybody related to water and sea.
Let us hope that the Blessing of the water by the Cross today will allow us to move forward from the tempests of the last years to more serene waters over the next years. Happy Epiphany and health and happiness to everybody”.
