On 6 July 2023, the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, paid an official visit to Cyprus, accompanied by the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros.
In the morning of July 6, the Minister of National Defence visited the Presidential Palace of Nicosia, where he was welcomed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis.
Mr. Dendias subsequently visited the Ministry of Defence of Cyprus, where he had a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Mr. Mihalis Giorgallas, in the presence of the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros and the Chief/National Guard General Staff Lieutenant General Dimokritos Zervakis, whereas a meeting of both countries’ representatives also took place.
Joint statements by Mr. Giorgallas and Mr. Dendias were made after the meeting.

Afterwards, the Minister of National Defence visited the “Tomb of Makedonitissa” and the “Imprisoned Graves”, where he respectively laid a wreath.
Mr. Dendias, accompanied by the Chief/HNDGS, visited the Barracks of the Hellenic Contingent in Cyprus, where he attended the memorial service for those fallen in action and laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Hellenic Contingent in Cyprus. He was subsequently informed of the mission, the operational capability and readiness of the Hellenic Contingent in Cyprus, inspected its facilities and addressed its personnel.
