The Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias participated today, Tuesday 12 September 2023, in the meeting held at the Coordination Centre in Larissa, on how to cope with the impact of the adverse weather, accompanied by the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros. Members of the Government, the Region of Thessaly and the pertinent authorities participated in the meeting.
Afterwards, the Minister of National Defence visited the 1st Army/EU-OHQ in Larissa, and was briefed by its Commanding General, Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos, on the Armed Forces’ contribution to tackling the effects of the recent adverse weather conditions in the Region of Thessaly. The Chief/HTAF Lieutenant General (AF) Georgios Fassoulas, the Commanding General of the Special Warfare Command Lieutenant General Dimitrios Houpis, the Commander of the Studies and Constructions Unit Major General Michail Klouvas, and personnel of the 1st Army were also present.

Afterwards, Mr. Dendias inspected the Military Camp “Bougas” in Larissa, where one of the stations sent to Thessaly by the HNDGS/Special Joint CBRN Unit is set, with the apposite equipment.
The Minister of National Defence, accompanied by the Chief/HNDGS, also visited the 32nd Marines Brigade, at the Military Camp “Georgoulas” in Volos, where he was briefed by its Commander, Brigadier General Georgios Papageorgiou, on the contribution made to dealing with the effects of the adverse weather conditions in the regional unit of Magnesia, at the presence of the Commanding General of the Special Warfare Command Lieutenant General Dimitrios Houpis, and other personnel of the Armed Forces.
Mr. Dendias also visited the vehicle and personnel disinfection point in
the Military Camp “Georgoulas”.
